Preparing and Finalising Accounts

The course is intended to ensure any basic problems or misunderstandings are eliminated at an early stage and give a complete overview of preparing and finalising accounts from start to finish.

Most of the day revolves around a case study incorporating both individual and group work where participants will develop skills in:

  • Producing a set of accounts from source records, together with supporting working papers
  • Interpreting accounts, including the identification of problem areas
  • Interviewing clients in order to gain information and resolve queries
  • Establishing the journals required to finalise a set of accounts and completing a final sense check of the accounts

Who should take the course

The course is suitable for anyone who has knowledge of the principles of bookkeeping and has been involved in accounts preparation assignments for between 3 and 9 months.
